Course outline

Startup Essentials is broken down into four courses.

It covers a range of essential skills including:

  • identifying business opportunities

  • proposing a new business idea

  • acquiring funding and resources

  • following regulations, and 

  • writing a comprehensive business plan.

The course is 100% online with 12 months' enrolment to enable a flexible learning schedule around work and / or school commitments. 

Each course takes approximately 4 hours to complete and can be done in any order at your own pace. 

  • Course 1 – Opportunities to start your own business 

So, you've got a great idea for a new business…but will it work and do you have what it takes? Learn the skills to analyse the opportunity and start up a new business.

  • Course 2 – Proposing a new business idea  

New business ideas are exciting and provide opportunities to grow in new ways. Learn how to systematically work on business idea development and get your idea off the desk and into action.

  • Course 3 – New business funding and finance 

Making sure your business has the cash required for growth is essential for both new and established businesses. Learn financial strategies for new projects and business ventures.

  • Course 4 – Writing the business plan
